The Lung Test is one of the components that is considered a ventilator accessory. When the ventilator is disconnected from a patient, it is the tool used to check the function and accuracy of the ventilator. It is also used to simulate the resistance and compliance of a lung. It is made up of black rubber and is reusable. The flat length of 8.5 inches with the flat width of 3.5 inches. This is used in alarm testing, which is done to verify that alarms are functioning normally. During the alarm test it should be connected to the patient connection. The ventilator must be tested before the first patient and on a daily basis prior to any patients. It is highly reliable, durable and efficient.
