A Hex Socket Head Cap Screw is a six-sided bolt with a trimmed hex head and a washer face on the bearing surface. A hex head cap screw is made of stainless steel which is a iron based alloy. It contains a minimum of chromium around 10.5%. The presence of chromium provides corrosive resistance to the stainless steel and helps it to resist scaling at elevated temperatures. Stainless steel also maintain its excellent toughness.
